The Charles Taylor Prestbury Raised Rectangular Extra Large Planter is a practical and attractive solution for larger planting schemes, ideal for vegetables, herbs, shrubs and mixed displays. Its raised rectangular design makes planting and maintenance easier while creating a strong visual feature for gardens and patios.

Made from FSC-sourced timber and treated with an oil-based, water-repellent preservative, this planter is designed for reliable outdoor use in the British climate. Integrated drainage slats support healthy root growth, and the planter can be lined with a heavy-duty refuse bag or weed membrane if required. Measuring 1090mm wide x 475mm deep x 420mm high and weighing 12.7kg, it offers an approximate planting volume of 100 litres, providing generous space for substantial planting.

Product Details & Care

Your planter is supplied with one coat of the ‘Taylor Brown’ oil-based preservative. To help protect and extend the life of the timber, we strongly recommend applying an additional coat every 6–12 months. All suitable preservatives and aftercare products are available from our online store.

Wood is a natural material and may expand or contract depending on weather conditions. As a result, natural characteristics such as cracking, splitting, warping or shrinkage may occur and cannot be considered faults. Periodic checking of fixings is recommended.

Occasionally, resin may appear in the timber. This is a natural occurrence and does not affect performance. If present, it can be removed using a cloth and white spirit.
