The Charles Taylor Prestbury Raised Rectangular Trough (Large) offers a balanced combination of generous planting space and a tidy, raised design, making it ideal for herbs, flowers and compact vegetable planting. Its traditional rectangular form suits patios, gardens and seating areas while providing easy access for planting and maintenance.
Crafted from FSC-sourced timber and treated with an oil-based, water-repellent preservative, this trough is designed for reliable outdoor use in the British climate. Integrated drainage slats promote healthy root growth, and the trough can be lined with a heavy-duty refuse bag or weed membrane if required. Measuring 830mm wide x 410mm deep x 420mm high and weighing 9.9kg, it offers an approximate planting volume of 62 litres, providing ample space without overwhelming smaller outdoor areas.

Product Details & Care
Your trough is supplied with one coat of the ‘Taylor Brown’ oil-based preservative. To help protect and extend the life of the timber, we strongly recommend applying an additional coat every 6–12 months. All suitable preservatives and aftercare products are available from our online store.
Wood is a natural material and may expand or contract depending on weather conditions. As a result, natural characteristics such as cracking, splitting, warping or shrinkage may occur and cannot be considered faults. Periodic checking of fixings is recommended.
Occasionally, resin may appear in the timber. This is a natural occurrence and does not affect performance. If present, it can be removed using a cloth and white spirit.

Orders over £100: free standard delivery to mainland UK.
Orders under £100: £4.99 standard delivery.
Most in-stock items are dispatched within 2–3 working days.
Larger flat-pack sets are sent via standard or pallet courier — we’ll contact you directly to arrange a suitable delivery day if needed.
Areas we don’t currently cover: we’re unable to deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, offshore islands, or international addresses. If you’re unsure whether your postcode is covered, please contact us before ordering.
Certain other postcode areas may incur an additional delivery charge. If this applies to your order, we’ll let you know before dispatch — it will never be added without your knowledge.

Returns Policy
In line with UK distance-selling regulations, you have a 14-day right to cancel from the day you receive your order. To cancel, you must tell us within that 14-day window — you then have a further 14 days to send the item back to us.
Returns are at the customer’s cost. We do not cover return postage or collection charges, including for items delivered by pallet courier, unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect.
The item must be unused, unassembled, and in its original packaging to qualify for a return. Flat-pack products that have been assembled cannot be returned — this is in addition to items that are custom, personalised, marked Final Sale, or damaged through misuse or improper assembly.
Once we receive an eligible item back, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days. The cost of standard delivery (where one applied) is refunded; any return delivery cost is not.
If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, contact us within 7 days of delivery — different terms apply under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and you will not be asked to cover return costs in that case.
