The Charles Taylor Willoughby Extra Large Sleeper Trough is designed for generous planting schemes, making it ideal for shrubs, grasses and mixed planting displays. Its traditional sleeper-style design with integrated drainage slats supports healthy root growth while adding strong visual impact to gardens, patios and pathways.

Made from FSC-sourced timber and treated with a water-repellent preservative, this trough is built for reliable outdoor use in the British climate. It can be lined with a heavy-duty refuse bag or weed membrane if required. Measuring 1610mm wide x 480mm deep x 455mm high and weighing 20.5kg, it offers an impressive approximate planting volume of 250 litres, providing ample space for larger or multiple plants.

Product Details & Care

Your trough is supplied with one coat of a water-repellent preservative treatment. To help protect and extend the life of the timber, we recommend applying a suitable wood preservative periodically, depending on exposure and weather conditions. All compatible aftercare products are available from our online store.

Wood is a natural material and may expand or contract depending on weather conditions. As a result, natural characteristics such as cracking, splitting, warping or shrinkage may occur and cannot be considered faults. Periodic checking of fixings is recommended.

Occasionally, resin may appear in the timber. This is a natural occurrence and does not affect performance. If present, it can be removed using a cloth and white spirit.
